Slumber Wonders - American Girl Book Review

I just received the book Slumber Wonders from the people at American Girl and I think it’s a great book for your budding social butterfly.  This book includes ideas for fun slumber-party themes, plus how-to-guides for invitations, decorations, food, games, crafts, and goody bags.  There’s even a complete shopping list for each party, along with a tear-out door hanger to personalize.
An example of one of the parties was a “Drive-in Dinner Party.”  Your budding hostess can throw a fabulous bash with a 1950s twist.  Invitations are old 45 records you can purchase at a second hand store.  Put your guests in the mood with a pony tail station, letter sweaters, and sock hop socks.  Play games like Speed Tables, Diner Dash, and Savvy Serve.  Dinner includes burgers, fries, and a milkshake stand.
As usual the thing I love most about American Girl Books is that it gives your child a chance to use their imagination.  For this reason, the Thrifty Maven it’s no wonder that I give Slumber Wonders a wide awake four celebratory stars.
